Many of you may know I snapped my Achilles Tendon late last year which put a stop to diving for a while.
Yesterday I ventured out at Kaikoura which is down the East coast of the South island of New Zealand. Famous for Whale and Dolphin watching and even more so for the Seals and Cray Fish that are in abundance. The Kiwis dive to feed and cray fish are always prime targets although the fisheries agency have strict laws on sizes of Crays that can be removed.
All went well with two hour longs dives on a shallow reef called Baxters Reef on the South Bay. There is a huge colony of NZ fur seals that can be seen all along the rocks, we never saw any in the water !!! The weather was great and sea conditions favourable also.
I've tried uploading some photos but having trouble. Will try again.
Happy days, back in the water again.
