Rob - it was the night dive from their one of their other centres, at Paradise I think, Should be there again tomorrow night. The dive is just off a floating pontoon, a drift dive along a wall and then back to the pontoon, nice and easy. Got a great guide, she's a Master Insrtuctor herself.
It was weird tonight - met a guy called Marco, had Smudges business cards in his wallet, from years ago, sends his regards Smudge!
Just going to downsize some from today ready to post later
33 degrees out of water today, 29 in the water

Back from a very hot Sharm where we were able to do 17 dives over the 6 days we were there. Plenty to see in the water and plenty of entertainment out of it as well.
Just so you can see what can be achieved here is a list of our dives, bearing in mind Will only had his 4 OW dives before he went, he managed most of these dives including the 2 night dives and both dives on the Thistlegorm. Sam, Tom and Charlie also were able to dive on this impressive wreck, thanks to the experience they have had with Proscuba over the last year or so, they were some of the best divers on our boat(s).
Day 1 - Ras Katy 24m Tower 27m Paradise - night dive 17m
Day 2 - Shark and Yolander Reef 30m Dunraven 29m Ras Za'atar 24m
Day 3 - Jackson Reef 29m Thomas Reef 26m Paradise - night dive 15m
Day 4 - Dhahab - Canyon dive 30m Dhahab - Blue Hole 30m
Day 6 - Jackfish Alley 29m Mini Yolander and wreckage 24m Ras Um Sid 25m
More pictures when I have more time...

Subject: Dhahab Trip Wed Oct 27, 2010 2:37 pm
On our 4th day we had an early start and a road trip with armed guard up to Dhahab. Here we had 2 dives, the Canyon and the Blue Hole, both 30m dives from the beach, followed by lunch at a local restaurant before a long drive back. It was worth it with another turtle seen as I came out of the chimney into the blue at 30m. Then we had free-divers to entertain us in the blue hole, followed by an exit at the park bench....

After the dives we stayed for lunch in a local restaurant, made more entertaining by the roaming ferral cats and the girls selling bracelets, or in Charlie's case a necklace...An entertaining time was spent haggling, 23 Egyptian £ well spent...

Never mind the little girl, lets get into the wreck...
The lady on the line is our guide Poli who was great, so relaxed she gave you confidence. A MI like Smudge who prefers to dive and guide and not teach. She had Will diving on this wreck with just his OW qualification, he really came on during this week and this dive gave him loads of confidence, so thank you Poli if you ever see this, and thanks from the kids who enjoyed their holiday so much as you treated them like responsible adults. But then we must thank Smudge for getting them to where they are now.

We saw our 3rd turtle on this dive, after dropping down a wall we went into a cave at 6m, swam though this and out into the blue at 9m to drop down to 28m. Here we saw in the distance a huge turtle swimming by about 100m away, too far away to get near to it, it was swimming with no effort and covering a lot of ground quickly, an amazing sight...

Subject: Day 6 Baby Yolander Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:02 am
The Yolander wreckage lies at a shallow depth and consists of some of the cargo carried by the Yolander ship which now lies at 140m so too depp for us to ever see. It was shipwrecked in 1981 so is a recent wreck.
In the shallower depths that we can dive we can find rolls of lino, bath tubs, basins and toilets and a very crushed and rusty BMW car. There is a dark moray eel who sits under a small pinacle, he was there last year too.
Normally you come across the wreckage after drifting past Shark reef and Yolander reef. We had done this dive on day 2 but had not all reached the wreckage as we had been delayed watching a shoal of pelagics, so today our guide took the 6 of us onto baby Yolander reef, a small satellite reef by the wreckage and we had a good look around the bathtubs and then went around the back of baby Yolander reef.
The big napolean wrasse was there but did not come close this year, the dark moray was there and the pink stonefish, and more blue spotted stingrays...
