Into the Blue Empty
PostSubject: Into the Blue   Into the Blue EmptySat Sep 14, 2013 11:49 am

Hi folks,

Well just spent two weeks in Egypt and had my first Blue water experience, it was a definite change from the cold water diving I have done so far.

I dove with Camel dive and did four days of diving doing a total of eight dives.

Day one;

The gardens, the first dive was a buoyancy check and test dive at far garden it was a total shock at how much life was their saw my first spotted sting ray, crocodile fish and a lion fish and the  vis was awesome !!! really comfortable dive so many fish and other critters.

second dive was near garden and although these were common first dives due to the ( stop being negative ) of tourists the seven of us on the boat had the whole reef to our selves it was excellent.

Day two;

Was a speedboat dive to the back of Jacksons reef, totally different entry method and the swells were very high a brilliant day, I was totally shocked at the blue it was fantastic we just missed a hammerhead and I was gulping the air so I only managed a 40min dive with a 15ltr tank not great.

Day three;

Jacksons reef, the other divers had returned and I did not really enjoy the dive there were to many divers in the water but I mange to make the best of it and get a glimpse of some tuna and trevaly.

Second dive was on woodhouse reef and it was superb lot of life countless fish and a really comfortable dive.

Day four;

My last day of diving and I was dying to see some larger animals and I was not disappointed!

my first dive was Shark and youlander as their was no current we managed to do both, I hired a camera and I was ready to go!!!  I was totally shocked at both reefs, how beautiful and teeming with life they were, my first attempts at photography were ok (see below)

Second Dive was amazing I had been talking on the boat about what I would like to see on my dream dive then we moved to Ras zatar I settled down and  as I was scanning below I saw my first turtle!!! it was excellent to far to take a pic so on I went, I was looking at all of the different fish and was looking forward to seeing clown fish, just then about 12m away a grey reef shark came out of the blue just over a meter big with a remora underneath it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in awe it circled us then vanished into the blue, as I composed myself another grey reef came in to view swam near me by 10m then vanished it was amazing, towards the end of the dive I was frantically looking for clown fish when a 1.5m eagle ray glided past it was magnificent, what a tremendous dive.

Third and final dive at Ras um Sid totally on a high from the last dive I swam along really content and them spotted a barracuda so I saw everything that wanted to really comfortable dive.

So now I have had my first Blue water experience I am now very keen to do some specialisms and defo need to do so photography sessions!
