Nemo 33

This is the worlds deepest scuba pool at 34.5m deep. For this trip we had 16 people heading over to invade Belgium! This trip involves using the North sea ferry with a day in Brussels to vist nemo 33. For me this is always a great adventure, and something completly different. With a water temparture of 32 degrees and a maximum depth of just over 34m, it is truly a unique experience.

Here are just couple of my pictures, but my camera failed me again! Two great dives, and thanks to Martin and Jack for being my buddies for today.

more to follow later on, along with a few dive profiles

As promissed here are a few of this weekends pictures... but I know over a thousand pictures of other peoples were downloaded onto my laptop, so i'm sure when people get round to adding them, they will be great to see.

Here are my dive profiles and couple more just to show some typical dives from Nemo

Another great trip to Nemo 33 in Brussels. Record number of 16 with us for this trip. How many can we get next year? Might need to hire a coach with a dancing Coach driver Here's some more pictures.

Smudge didn't really eat 2 apple pies - somehow the picture downloaded twice.

I ate the apple pie, but there was only one.

Good pictures, nice to see me in a few. Like Ian says a record for us and the nemo trip. Keep an eye on the forum, I might sneak a small trip later in the year, but the big one will be March next year.

Here are those profiles laid ontop of each other. The light blue shows how fast Ed went down to the bottom compared the slower descent with me and my buddies. The black profile is mine, which means I went longer out of these. All four start at the same point, and the time line and depth and callibrated against each other.

For those doing the multi level speciality - here is the stages of my dive, with what the computer was showing me. Note the deco at 0 then to 7 min... ascent at 9mins deco to 10m (21mins into the dive): note the ceiling of 3m.

PostSubject: another cracking trip   Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:31 am

Yet another visit to a great place. Two good dives, with apologies to those who only got one.

The French and Germans are still as piss poor at being aware of other people in the pool.

Shock of the dives was to seen two people DESCENDING whist using AAS. Surely you must consider the thought process for the safety divers. People on AAS are usually making their way to the surface because one is out of or low on air and NOT DESCENDING towards the bottom of the worlds deepest diving pool

Just to let people know, Papa's very steady stop at 10m was because he put his computor on the floor and not because he is that good with his bouyancy

I was rather disappointed to be beaten to the bottom on the second dive by James who managed to overtake me with 3metres to go when I could 'clear' quick enough. Well done mate - there's still next year.

A BIG THANK YOU goes to Papa who arranged the trip again and had the problems with Nemo shafting us. You'd think they would make allowances for those travelling by ferry but no. Also, who do they think did all their free advertising in the UK when they first opened - us, but still no. Can't wait to win the Euro Lottery, then we can build our own

Also, thanks to all who attended for making the trip worthwhile. This trip is not just about the dives. It's also about having fun with friends. I hope the newcomers to the trip weren't too traumatised.

ROLL ON NEXT YEARS TRIP. To echo Ian, lets see how many we get on.

Another fab weekend at a place I really enjoy diving. So many people say.... but its just a swimming pool! Its one of those where you have to experience it to understand. For me the place has a bit of unexplained magic about it that makes me want to visit again and again.

And then theres the ferry! We always manage to have a really good laugh and long may it continue!

Just wanted to add my thanks to Pappa for sorting all this out, never an easy task organising People, Ferry Bookings, Cars, Nemo sessions etc etc - and take the flak when things happen totally out of his control (as we experienced this time with session numbers).

!!!! LUV U !!!!

Wah Wah chaka aka wa Waaa!!! A bit of funk guitar for my bass buddy 'killa'. If anyone knows a lead vocalist to join our internationally reknowned air guitar and pretend drum band, then please feel free to apply. This highly sort after position has only become surprisingly available after the shock walk out of our front man when returning from our tour of Belgium...

If you need to ask then you weren't there....

Anyway I have some pickies here for you,

Enjoy.

Ok, who screwed up the page width?????????

Having listened to Papa rave about Euan's 2 minute descent I decided to download my computor.

My descent time on the second dive was 1minute 1second. AND I WAS STILL SECOND DOWN

You knew I was safe.... I was right along side racing ya!

Sorry - what I meant to say was I was descending safely along side my buddy keeping complete contact and ensuring the safety of us both, making sure my ears were equalised and ensuring those around me were at a safe distance.

Is that what im meant to say?

Not - give us all a chisel and we'll make the hole a bit deeper as we hit the bottom next time?
