Nemo 33

This is the worlds deepest Scuba Pool in Brussels in Belgium. ProScuba once again have visited this unique facility with a group of 21 divers. We travel via the North sea ferries to Belgium, then a short drive to Nemo 33 to dive to the bottom at 34.6m deep!

This year we also completed a new 'world record' for the deepest Rubiks cube to be completed. John (aka Skies n pies), completed the task watched on by several of us, also videoing this challenge.

Thanks for a great weekend, I'm sure there will be lots of tales and photographs over the next few days.

I'll start with this video..... thanks to Doc for this one... this is the Rubiks Challenge, from start to finish!

It starts with someone mixing up the cube, then John proceeds to complete the cube as seen, if you wait at the end a computer can seen for verification for depth - 34m

What a weekend!! I am so glad I was there to share it.

A big congrats to Skies for his world record

This was a whole new experience for me and it certainly pushed me out of my comfort zone yet again!! My buddy for the first dive was the one and only Pa and this made me stop shaking quite so much!!! Took me quite a while at 10m to clear my ears and as they were getting progressively more painful I thought I wasn't going to make it but with patience they cleared and then I was on my way to the bottom!! This was the deepest I have been so far

It made it feel great to see how many people were pleased to see me there. Thanks guys for your constant encouragement. Despite some of the other small probs I had, when we looked at my dive profile later on in the evening, it was a good one.

Because my ears were still giving me a bit of trouble I decided I wasn't going to go deep a second time so I had a nice bimble around at max 10m with Catherine just exploring a bit, waving at the people in the cafe and watching the others come to the surface. It was a good dive for me so thanks to Catherine for being my buddy.

I don't think I have laughed so much for ages and there will be so many things that will set us of when we next all get together but it was very entertaining.

Thanks to Andy for the driving, it made it a stress free weekend for me!!

All in all a brill experience that I will remember for a long time.

Smile just found these two images off the 'dave8's camera.....

bounce it shows the crowd gathered round to photograph, video and witness the world record!

what you need to remember this challenge was done at 34m, narcosis, bottom time and air make this a very real challenge!

Looks like you all had a ball and I seem to keep seeing Joolybee sitting on Jacks knee
Congratulations to John on the record its not the usual way of doing a rubik cube personally I find its easier if you pull them to bits dont try removing the stickers though people can tell that you have done that red card
You need to seal the record at the MOD for air in Dotty lol try it in 5mm gloves confused2
Better still get your arse's over here and do it in the crystal clear waters with my mate Tigger the shark hugs
All in all though guys you looked like you had a brill time miss you all your a great gang of repribates chin taunt2 wave

A big thanks to all. To Papa for organising it, for John in getting the world record and for all the photograhers for missing me completely - I'm sure I was there......................

Thanks to Ange and Channer for buddying me on the first dive of the day. First to the bottom in less than 1 minute. Nothing special. Just dive 400 but thanks for remembering

(Back to Work - back to my computer and a bit of Forum catch up while I wait for my development PC to boot into the US!)

Another couple of great dives in Nemo 33

BIG THANKS PA!!

Big Thanks go out to Pappa Smudge for organising a trip which proves to be a logistical nightmare getting cars, ferries, people, rooms and dives all at the right place at the right time. I know we all give him a lot of stick, but I'm sure its a massive job to sort out! Luv U!

Thanks to our drivers for getting us there and back safely and in time for Dives and Ferries!

Congratulations to Tink on your 400th dive - it was great to be your buddy for this and it was a good dive at a great location!

Congratulations to John (SkiesNPies) on your new World Record! Glad to be a part of it and be there to watch you do it (Even though I nearly completed it instead of mixing it!)

Well done to our newest member Ken for finally getting to Nemo 33 with 'Tim'll Fix It' - Just a shame you had to share the trip with a gang of crazy loonies like us! Welcome to ProScuba!

Heres to the next one!

Hey

Well, while I'm at work I thought I would sneak on to have a look at the pics.

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to Smudge for calling me Friday to see if I was free over the weekend, I'm very gratefull I wasn't forgotten and was given the chance to do this trip! Also, a big Thank You to all the drivers (and to Doc for driving me around).

I had such a great time over the weekend. I never knew a ferry trip could be use a great education of chapstick, what men get up to when sharing a room, the joys of Elton and how to make friends with Amy, and lots more!

Congrats to Skies! I can't even do one out of the water, so great achievement! Smile Smile

And not forgetting Tink on his 400th dive. It was my 13th! Smile

I loved the dive at Nemo, nice warm water. Although my first dive was like diving in a jacuzi, but it gave me a chance to practice boucyany control while I couldnt see anything but everyone else bubbles Smile but no problem with that on the second dive as not as many divers in the second time.

Some great photos, although there is a lot of man love in that water

I'm so pleased I went, and grateful for the chance. It was great to spend time with everyone, and makes me want to dive even more!!!! wave So thank you everyone

We do need to remember a little better next time

Let everyone know in advance when no.500 is due, then there's a chance someone may not forget
