Update on progress

Welcome to the first update from Sharm. As you may be aware, our very own Squirrel is here doing his instructor course and examinations.
This courses is long and very mind blowing. A lot to take in in shuch a short space of time. Split between water, accademics, teaching presentations, workshops you have to sleep. The sun is hot through the day, which also drains you of energy.

Anyhow here just a few shots of what we are upto-

SORRY I can't Get the images to upload, i'll try later

Sounds like hard work mate although you seem to be doing well (as expected). Keep it up. I look forwards to working with our newest (and best) instructor. Smile

PostSubject: DAY TWO IE   Thu Feb 21, 2008 10:58 am

Today started out a more relaxled affair. A civil 9.00 o'clock start, but straight into teaching presentations.then on to the red sea collage for our rescue senario's. All week the sea has been flat calm without current. But today was a slighltly diffrent story. Large breaking waves ideal for surfing but quite sporting if you are trying to recover divers. So on we battled against waves and wind. Now I don't suffer from sea sickness but suddenly the rest of my group did. So i had the joy of being rescued many times so that my fellow canditates didn't have to lie in the waves and drink half of the red sea. We then regrouped for our open water teaching sessions. Only to find Fragle and chuckle come wading in to the dive centre after a dive. (Of all the places in all the world) So then back out in to the sporting sea's for our open water teaching. I had lift bag and fin piovts. Once that was all over back to the red sea collage to see how we had done.It was one of the largest IE's and out of 85 divers only 5 failled.
It is well worth doing, the IE is the easy bit, it's the IDC which is where you put all the work in. and blows your mind. Hope to see you all soon and look forward to working with you all in the future. Take care and thanks for all the support everyone has given me see you all soon.
ANDY AKA Squirrel (instructor that is)
