PostSubject: More Menorca 09   Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:31 pm

Been a member over a year, figured I out to post something, problem is, its somewhere you all probably know, but on the North coast, so I am posting anyway.
Dived with 2 centres this year (as Ulmo has closed it seems).
I diving with Fornells, but also with a smaller tucked a way centre at Plaja De Fornells. The second ones were a bit slack (but they were happy to rent me gear to take away from the centre so we made friends), the first centre were a bit more formal, but friendlier this year than previous years - I presume due to them being quieter.
Diving was exceptional, seeing lobsters, octopus, baracuda, large groupers, morrays all on a single dive.
I enclose some snaps.

More to follow when I can work out how to upload more pics at a time....

It seems that they are getting a bit compressed during upload so the quality is reduced, plus the watermarking seems to degrade them a bit, but still, on balance I am pretty happy with my efforts (new camera).

It could be, it wasn't far from the Swiss Cheese for a beast that size, it was approx 1.8 meters long and ate three divers while I was watching it.

If you don't know how to add pictures, then just ask! It's a bit slow but it's really worthwhile to see them Sleep

Please read the instructions that I was kindly given on the posting for my St. Lucia trip.......

I worked it out from there, so it must be pretty clear.

Cheers
Ed

The description I got from the guide was "spanish lobster" , they had them in restaurant tanks along side 'traditional' lobster.
Perhaps good you didn't put your hand on it, the guide explained that they have sharp plates on their backs and if you are not careful when you pick them up, they kick like a crazy thing (thats about to be eaten) and that causes the plates on their back to overlap - causing a nasty case of slicey hand!
