Today Butty, Mrs Butty, Baby Butty, beany and myself went to Capers for a few dives.
The weather was amazing, Sun, Sun & more Sun
This was the first dive for beany in a dry suit, so following a quick briefing, we dived in. We headed to the container and small helicopter to carry out a few training routines - feet first recovery, dumping air etc. All went ok.
We headed for the sump to get deep!!
After 30 mins, Beanies weight belt kept moving to the front causing his feet to rise and inflate.
Next came the fast acent from 15m to the surface, with me trying to stop him - not a chance!!!!!
both on surface, with no sign of Butty!!.
Following a few minutes, Butty surfaced ok.
. 32 mins dive time.
We had a good debrief about the dive and what went wrong.
The second dive went with no problems. The weight belt was changed for wieghts in the BCD pockets.
We headed for the horses, then Dreamer and Large helicopter. We then headed for the podsnap, Cessna and Answer. We then carried out an SMB release. My blow and go was Seized but sent up the spare. 3min deco stop and out by left hand side. A 50 min dive in total.
Overall we had a good day diving. Thanks to Mr Butty and baby Butty for shore cover.
Lets try to get more divers out on these days. Very good for practicing skills, trying new gear in a safe environment and helping new divers.
