Mr Bomber packed the car on Thursday and collected me from work for the 3 hour journey from Preston to Beadnell, on the North East Coast.
Weather reports hadn't been particularly promising but we kept our fingers crossed (which kind of made the driving a bit difficult - but hey!!)
We arrived at Stan Hall's tiny campsite and were welcomed by the rest of the gang - Kev & family, Mark & Jackie. We had the entire campsite to ourselves which was kinda handy considering how small it was, but we made ourselves at home.
First dive of the weekend was on Friday in Ladyhole, vis wasn't good at all and there was a bit of surge - it made us wonder if maybe we had chosen the wrong weekend to be diving - however the rest of the weekend's dives were a lot more successful. Having said that I still managed 35 mins in a semi-dry and didn't get cold (7C)
Only Mark and Jackie went in the water on Saturday and reported much better vis and a "cracking dive" and pictures taken of sea hares, sea lettuce & star fish and the smile on Jackie's face told us how good the dive was!
Sunday saw the 3 amigos entering the water together for 3 dives, 2 in ladyhole and 1 in knackerhole. Vis wasn't as good as Saturday but still a vast improvement on Friday. Mr B remembered to take his camera but was gutted that the batteries ran out after 17 pics but was chuffed that he logged dive number 200.
Wildlife reported from these dives include more sea hares, velvet crab, lobster, hermit crab, squat lobster, various starfish and sea anenomies.
On Monday morning we left Mark and Jackie preparing for Jackie's 50th dive as we headed home via the car park otherwise known as the M6.
If someone could be kind enough to give me a lesson in how to host pictures I will glady post up the photos from the weekend.
