PADI TRIMIX COURSE
Just to let you know that over the past 2 weeks I have completed the full PADI trimix course
which has 'upgraded' my basic TDI 60m course to the full hypoxic PADI course.
First dive was in Capernwray on 1st September. Usual revision of skills and drills at 7m.
On 5th Sept 4 of us flew out to Malta where we were 'hosted' very well by TecWise in St Julians.
Many thanks go to them for their expertise in blending and logistics, getting us to the correct sites needed for the course
when they did not have use of their own boat, sadly damaged 2 weeks before we went out. So a big thank you to Alan, Nev, Viv
and our invaluable in-water support diver and Go-Pro videographer Tec Steve 'Wilko' Wilkinson.
So we progressed from having no boat on day 1 for dive 3 to a tiny rhib with 4 twinset divers with 2 stages each and 2 sidemount support divers on day 2.
We then had a small hard boat with a tiny electric ramp which still involved a backwards roll in with 2 stages on!
Luckily the next 2 days were off a luxury day boat from Sliema complete with fresh food, drinks and a bar!
Last dive was completed on Gozo via a comfortable ferry and truck Dives completed were:
Um el Faroud 33m
HMS Stubborn 54m, Rozi 30m
Le Polynesien 61m
HMS Southwold bow section 68m, the Blenheim bomber 40m
HMS Southwold stern section 73m
Russell Hobbs pinnacle, Gozo 87m
Last 2 dives were with a travel gas so 3 stages until we went onto 1st deco gas at 38m, then Steve unloaded the travel gas cylinder from us.
Other student was Chloe Loftus who was completely new to Trimix diving Couple of Steve's GoPro videos are on my FB timeline
