Stoney Cove 5th August

Dive Master & AMED

Just 4 of us ventured out today for a day at Stoney Cove.

Jason, Sammy, Andy and myself.
It was busy but we had pre-booked a waterfront parking place, so that made life a lot easier once Andy had removed the people standing in it.
Steve (scuba toons) was there - in his new trim body, nice to see him again.

Weather was shall we say 'mixed' but that did not matter to 3 of us, Sammy did get cold though after a 62 minute dive and a heavy rain shower. She sat out dive 2 so we three could do a steady 70 mins.

Routes taken were:

Dive 1: down the road to the hydrobox, up slightly and around to the far right corner, then back across at 30 degrees to the steep wall of stone before the shop. Shallowed up there to look for crayfish and pike, then along under the bus-stop and out. 62 mins, 34-35m.
Dive 2: from the bus-stop, down to the anchor chain, to the Stanegarth. Vis was terrible, even at a metre away it was not clear. Better vis at deck level and we had a good potter round there before checking out the other 2 boats. Jason did a nice mask removal on the Defiant. From Belinda it was up to the Nautilus where we had a look again for crayfish during our safety stop. 70 mins, 20m.
