| Well Jase and I are having another little adventure.... a last minute decision to hop over to Malaysia for a holiday. We've ended up in Borneo for a few days, then the plan is to head back to Kuala Lumper for a few days of retail therapy, before heading back to the rock (otherwise known as Christmas Island!) This wasn't meant to be a diving holiday, but tomorrow we are heading off for a day in the South China Sea... to a marine park for a couple of dives. Fingers crossed for sea-horses and blue ringed occies! Will be taking the little camera..... so watch this space (as they say). Today we headed off into the jungle and found some of Jason's distant family... lots of monkeys!!!!!!! Hugs to everyone x x x | |

| Cheeky Smudge LOL We dived out of Kota Kinabalu, in and around the Tunka Abdulo Rahman Marine Park. Max depth of 30m if your lucky. Vis was said to be "very good" at 20m (not a patch on CI - we are really lucky!!!) We dived with Borneo Dream (UK company)... who were great and very cheap, and offered a great service! Apparently the best places to dive at at the other side of Borneo at Sipadan... which is where all the big stuff lives. Sadankan is meant to be good to, with "Turtle Island" being in that region. This trip for us was a last minute decision... more about chilling out and having fun - rather than being diving focussed (hence we had to hire kit ) ....so we werent too worried about going to the "best place" to dive (if that makes sense lol). All that being said, we had a great time diving. Unfortunatly we didnt find any Sea Horses or Blue Ringed Occies. But we did see Bat fish, cool nudis (that even the guide said were rare over here), sting rays and a huge variety of corals. The water was lovely and warm... 31 surface, 30 bottom. Pics to follow.... when internet decides to work | |

| Cool, thanks Lex, will check on our map and see where we are. The KK islands, are they the ones just 10 mins off shore? I read in our guide book that there were some decent sites just from the main jetty in KK just a few mins out to sea.
Where did you go to see the Jason's relatives? | |

| There are LOADS of islands off KK. It took us about 20 mins to get to our dive sites, by boat (RIB). One of the islands had a prite beach and resturant... which was just lovely. We had an Orang-utan rescue sanctuary at our Hotel, which had its own rainforest reserve.... pretty cool. . | |

| Yeah thats the one.... Raza Ria I think it was called. In KL now.... been shopping this aft.... its crazy!!!!..... MASSIVE shopping malls, we've had one like Dewsbury Market, One like the Ridings and one like Meadow Hell.... all a stones throw away from our hotel.... MAD!!!!! You'll love it in Borneo.... different world tho, poverty is high (everything is very cheap), but at the same time the people are so friendly. | |

| Well thats what we were looking for really - somewhere COMPLETELY different to home to take the kids and let them see another side to life. Nice to hear that somewhere is cheap - after booking for Australia and Singapore, somewhere cheap will be very welcome (with the exchange rate we are paying £80 for a night in a bloody tent in Oz). Have a good time shopping in KL, you will be needing some warm clothes with that cold breeze in Hull when you get back | |
