Claim ID: 346437
Membership Number: 304274

Dear Mr John Jordan,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding your intention to attempt the record for ‘The Deepest Solving Of The Rubiks Cube -Scuba Dive'. Your proposal is very similar to an existing record that we monitor and so the category that Guinness World Records currently recognizes is: ’Most Rubik's Cubes solved underwater’.

The current record (current as at the date of this letter) is:
The most Rubik's Cubes solved underwater in one single breath is four and was achieved by David Calvo (Spain), on the set of 'Guinness World Records', Madrid, Spain, on 16 January 2009.

Please do let us know if you would like to attempt that record instead. If that is the case, you may wish to check with us again closer to submitting your full claim to be sure that a new record has not been set in the interim.

Please note that this record information is provided to you to the best of Guinness World Records knowledge and belief as at the date of this letter and is based on the record information currently logged on the Guinness World Records database. This current record may change at any time due to a new record being approved in the interim. You are responsible for keeping yourself up to date with any new record in this category, as Guinness World Records will not directly inform you of any change to the current record.

RULES for this record

We have attached the specific set of Guidelines for this record category which detail the requirements and rules you must follow during your record attempt. You must ensure that all those participating at the record attempt are aware of the contents of these Guidelines.

These Guidelines are the appropriate for attempting this particular record as at the date of this letter. However, please be aware that as and when required, Guinness World Records may update the Guidelines without directly notifying you

VERIFICATION options:

You can find the specific evidence we require to evaluate your record claim in the Guidelines attached to this email.
This is in addition to the general evidence requirements as detailed in the 'Evidence required' document also attached.

Option 1)

Once the record has been attempted, you have to compile this above mentioned evidence and, along with the completed schedules 2 and 3 of the ARRA, which you will find also attached, this has to be sent to our offices in London, where it will be reviewed in a strict order of arrival:

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS LIMITED
3rd Floor
184-192 Drummond Street
London NW1 3HP
UNITED KINGDOM.
Please ensure that your Claim ID (above) is clearly marked on your package and all documentation.

Option 2)

Instead of compiling and sending this evidence to be evaluated, it is possible to request a Guinness World Records official Adjudicator to verify your record attempt on site. Our Adjudicator will evaluate your record attempt and will immediately announce if a new Guinness World Records record has been set, by presenting you with an official Guinness World Records certificate.

If you are interested in this possibility please send us an email to Adjudication@guinnessworldrecords.com including your Claim ID number and the date and place of your record attempt.

The Adjudication service comes with a fee of ₤4,500 - £5,500 (which may vary depending on your location and the number of records you will be attempting). You will also be responsible for the transportation and accommodation of our Adjudicator.

The license to use the Guinness World Records brand name and logo to promote your record attempt is also included in this Adjudication fee.

Please note, you must obtain written approval from Guinness World Records Limited of the final lay-out of the GWR Trademarks on all licensed material, prior to distribution or printing of any material which includes the GWR Trademarks.

If you have any questions regarding the specific guidelines or evidence requirements, or require any further information, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL AS THIS COMES FROM AN UNMONITORED EMAIL ADDRESS, you can contact us http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/register/login.aspx by logging in on the website, and selecting your claim ID number. There you can click on ‘Make an Enquiry’ or to find more information about: having an Adjudicator present at your record attempt, how to request the use of the Guinness World Records logo for your event, ordering extra certificates or application review time.

Alternatively you can call our office in London on +44 207 891 4500 from 9.30 AM to 6.00 PM GMT.

We wish you the best of luck in your record attempt and we look forward to hearing from you!
Yours sincerely,

Johanna Hessling
Guinness World Records

Bet he didn't do them at 30 metres. Don't think they know what they're talking about at Guinness Records. Got to agree with you Squirrel.

Me thinks you should appeal this decision or ask for it to be put into a different catagory.
Sound like they haven't quite got the Idea of a Scuba unit!

But to us you will be the record hold regardless!!
