Farne Islands 3 & 4th July

Just back from a great trip to Farne Islands. Thanks to Killa for organising trip and arranging for brilliant weather. He also gained his latest PADI Speciality - Seal Fettling, having spent his last dive doing just that.

It takes everybody else to make a good trip also. The diving was second to none and bunk barn just as it said on the tin. Diving with seals for 20 mins was out of this world!!!

I certainly recommend using William Sheils for diving out of Seahouses. The boat was very good, good diver lift and very knowledgable skipper. :cheers: :cheers:

I am looking at organising a trip for next July 2009 but going on friday till sunday. If weather like we had both days, we can have a barbecue on the beach!! :cheers:

Don't forget Trearddur Bay weekend on 19th & 20th July, Hopefully the weather will be as good.

The north sea proved a real treasure yet again. When the weathers fine and the seas are calm the north east coast is just magic. With reefs and wrecks and a real abunance of animals, fish and sponges this area just can't be beaten. I neaver tire of such rich wonderful dive sites on our very own door step.

Thanks to MK for organising the trip - why not sort out your own trip and invite everone along. We need trips to Scotland, the South coast, Wales and anywhere with water to dive.

Thanks to all who attended and made our Friday such fun. I failed with most of the surface pics but got some. Any chance we can get all the pics to Smudge so we can share via the 'gig-stick' Ange and myself can't wait til next year. Perhaps next time we can be introduced as there were some new faces to me.
Still crackin' time was had. Many Many thanks to the sealord of diving aka Killa for arranging the whole thing. This is one experience that all should share. It was brilliant.

Have put my photos onto CD's (one for each of you). Will distribute them this week if i see you or else via Smudge.

is there a seal fetteling speciality? i want to learn from the Pro's!!

im liking the sounds of that already!!

I will be in discussions with my fellow fettler about when the course can be run.

The cost is quite expensive but due to the thorough nature of the course, is well worth it.

This is not your usual PADI get in water, swim - "you've passed" course, there are a few workshops , video's (Archos provided) :cheers: and dives. Many a man has tried but many have failed, so don't think it is a formallity
There will be many disappointed people who may fail

in can provide the Sheep fettling - great for those none divers around us!

Being a man who has worked at a dales farm for many a Easter, I can also provide a thorough course on Sheep Idetification and fettling. From past experience you need good thighs and a strong grip

The usual velcro will not work for the true fettler. :x :x

The course can be run in a field but it is better near a cliff edge - Less tiring.

This is not a PADI cert so does not go towards you MSD cert .

Keep watching this forum for info.

I have been Known to blow an odd seal and split a few "O" rings in my time and wondered if this is a required skill for your Seal fettling course!!!!!
