Right so today 9+dog of us visited Dosthill Smile
Smudge, Me, Andy W, Jack, Skies, Dobs, Emma, Pete, Geoff and Poppy
After getting tanks filled and kit sorted, it was time to get wet Dosthill 16/1/11 246400

We split into 3 groups for the 1st dive,
Group 1. Smudge , Dobs and Pete
Group 2. Jack and Skies
Group 3. Me, Andy and Geoff

Dive 1. Me, Andy and Geoff dropped down off the wall to around 20 metres , got to the platform made sure everything was ok Smile Which it was, so we carried on swimming straight out into the middle of the quarry, seeing a car on the way to the tree. When we reached the tree we decided to turn back and we headed back along the wall getting out the far side. Good dive Dosthill 16/1/11 246400

2nd dive was 2 groups
Group 1. Smudge, Dobs and Pete Smile
Group 2. Andy, Geoff , Me , Jack and Skies Smile

This dive saw us follow the wall round to the back of the quarry towards the shot houses, viz was abit bad around here Dosthill 16/1/11 197222 , so we decided to head back. Andy and Geoff split from the group as Geoff was only on a single 12l, so Me, Skies and Jack headed back following the wall. Geoff's Bouyancy improved on this dive so well done to him. Dosthill 16/1/11 246400

Big thank you to Andy W for the lift to and from today hugs
Also, thank you to Emma and Poppy for the good shore cover Very Happy , And to everyone who came for the company and good diving as usual Dosthill 16/1/11 246400

Well done to Pete for completing his Drysuit Course wave

Very Happy
Dosthill 16/1/11 222826 WELL DONE TO PETE Dosthill 16/1/11 222826

OK Dosthill was the order of today so with hymn books ready we ventured off. My gang today being Charlie the Kray Kay, Geoff 123456789101112131415161718192021222324252627282930.

Dive 1 -
Water temp - 4 degrees
Bottom time 31 mins
Max depth 21 M
Entry via giant stride, slow descent up the middle of the quarry to the tree of the cheese grater, full inspection of all the hanging artifax then a slow fin back along the West side of the quarry with the pike to exit via the shallow steps.

Dive 2 -
Water temp - 4 degrees
Bottom time 21 mins
Max depth 18 M
Entry via giant stride, slow descent keeping to the East side of the quarry plan to reach the Van and shot house. Unfortunatley I had to split the dive around half way round and head back with Geoff as he was running short of air, so steady fin back to exit via the shallow steps.
Dosthill 16/1/11 222826 Well done to Geoff as this was his first time here, just felt the cold a little bit, good dive Geoff well done hope to see you soon. Dosthill 16/1/11 474975

Thanks to everyone as usual for a fabulous ProScuba day.

1) Good Company
2) Good fun
3) Good diving

And as usual we just want to dive.

Nice to see Ed again Dosthill 16/1/11 474975 Dosthill 16/1/11 474975

Enjoyed today (yesterday) very muchly.
Perhaps Smudge can rent me some twin 18's next time, might make it longer than 5 minutes bottom time.
New speciality for PADI how to drain 12 l in one breath.
I did enjoy it though, returned home with two black eyes (thanks Andy - only joking*), all the family were most sympathetic (again only joking). Clearly need practice, splashing around in the pool doesn't cut it.
* My young Lady wants tips - so will be coming on Friday to ponds forge - I will post on the appropriate post (?) 1234456789

Good to catch up with the crew again, sorry it has been so long!!!!

Dive 1:A quick dive to sort out weighting and bouyancy.

Dive 2: After playing with weights etc we were ready to go. Dropped down to the shallowest of platform in the 'Dive Cage Fighting', area. When then drifted of edge of platform to explore quarry bottom before returning to 6m platform where smudge was waiting (Hum!!!).We then swam over to the left before making our way to the large staircase for exit.

Dive 3: After some much needed refreshments, we strided in to the water, like three fat hungry divers who had been told there were free Mars Bars in the Quarry Bottom. We spent some time around the 6m platform and deco bar before, travelling around the quarry bottom from left to right, then came back past the cage fighting arena, before making our exit on the step ladder.

Thank you to everyone for their entertaining company, I enjoyed the day very much.

See you all out there again, soon!!!
