Today saw us at RUMTICKLE VIADUCT near Thurgoland
The weather was kind and the rain stayed away.
We had a great turn out with about fourteen people abseiling
More people actually attended but declined the offer of dangling on a thin rope from a bridge
However I can officially confirm that Doc and Andy have been volenteered to do a sponsored abseil the venue as yet to be decided in the near future.
Of course we will publicise this nearer the time (guys there is no backing out
)
Andy used a strange excuse for not attending today!!!!! something to do with "WORK" apparently he does occasionally do some although we do think it was an excuse to wuss out of the abseil
So the day started early for us 9 am to be precise, meeting at HQ and getting all the gear ready.
Tink Ange and Steve set up the ropes at the viaduct and I encouraged people to get over the railings with lots of reasurance :laugh:
We had a great turn out and no doubt Doc will put some fab picture on of everyone who braved the fence and abseiled 85feet to the ground below
This was a fund raising event for the PRO SCUBA van fund and we raised £340
After a great day out in the fresh air, we headed for the pub to warm up and of course have the mandatory drink associated with PRO SCUBA events
A big thank you to everyone who turned up to support us and a big welcome to Danny's daughter Olivia and his son (sorry missed his name) who both signed up for an open water course and will be soon joining their Dad and the rest of us (except me n lex
who will be stuck in Oz) out at a dive site near YOU
