7th May 2008 Trearddur Bay - Porth Diana Max depth: 10m Buddy: Chris J
The weather made the diving today - hot and very sunny. As usual for this location our plan was navigate at high tide through the gully and right along the reef. With the tide running hard we made through the gulley into the Irish Sea. Vizibility proved very poor but didn't hamper our efforts to meander along the reef. In the knooks and crevices were plenty of crabs, lobsters and shrimp. At the end of the reef a dogfish shot out of sight in the kelp. I followed onto the sand, but had managed to loose it. It was at this point we needed to re-trace our steps! with the tide now realy running off shore and the vizibility dropping we lost each other. On meeting on the surface the current was taking us into deeper water. We descended to start making our way along the bootom back to shore. Again pushed back we lost sight of each other. This time we decided to exit on the island and wait out the tide to receed. Our second dive was shorter, mainly to get us back into the bay. All in all a real adventure, just wish the viz was a little better.

Well sooooooo jealous love diving wales (well we just love diving ) you lucky barstewards mid week in the water oh the dream, and the wether is made for it. Sounds like you had a great time. Remeber the first time we dove the gully full of life but the left turn at the kelp nearly had us heading out into open water....and the vis was pritty good then. And we did it in semi's (Hard core dive)
