River Clean Up - A big thank you

This morning we helped clean a short section of river at Holmfirth. Kitted in wellies and bin bags we started up the river. At first glance it looked fairly clear of rubbish - but we got started the bags filled quickly. When we finished we had taken out about 30 bin bags plus loads of metal work and even an old bike!
A hudge thank you to all those who took part, especially young Megs, who soon found the water nearly as deep as her! She also completed this event as her Project Aware Speciality. A special mention to YoYo aka kris who organised the event, contacting the council, enviromental agency and arranging removal of the rubish. We even had the press involved, so if you are local, keep an an eye for us.

This is just one of the many enviromental projects we try to get involved in. Good fun was had by everyone, and I hope they tell you of thier adventures today.

Thanks to everyone involved it was a great success for the little time that we had hopefully we can do another river clean up in another area Very Happy

For those who didn't attend you missed some great fun. Laughing

It is pleasing to note that some people care about the rubbish we leave behind and you can have fun whilst cleaning it up. Also good to see that papa always tries to chat the women up whatever the situation. Also, we weren't the daftest dressed. On return to the car park we were surrounded by Morrismen at some kind of event. affraid
