| Where do I start. Arrive Friday 10th and was in Cala Blanca bay the same afternoon. Just a short shakedo9wn dive to make sure the weighting was right and the new straps were ok. So 97 minutes later we emerged from the 25 degree water reasonably staisfied with the attempt. Day two, after a lie in, due to the fact we couldn't wake up we went upto Son Xorguier for a dive with adjusted kit. The plan was to swin around the headland and after a couple of 'merekats' we made it. Shorter dive today, just 94minutes. Day three. Now the heat is getting too much. The temp is about 33degrees. Today we're off to Pont D'en Gil. It is very strange doing this just as customers but still a cracking dive. Day three part two. Now for the canyons. Again,it's nice to know I can find them without Smudge or Squirrel. Brill dive again Only one repeated question so far and that is 'where are the rest of you' especially Smudge. It appears the he is very missed but also nice to know the group is missed. Very strange when the barman at Tony's walkls up to you and asks if you are Tink and Ange. Then to be told the Andy and Emma send their regards - nice tho' Will keep you posted. Great so far but it's a pity there aren't more of us out here enjoying the great weather and the warm seas. Hugs from me. | |

| Cant say much more, tho its so lovely to be diving in such warm water. Its strange when you jump in and expect to feel the cold water running thro your suit and it doesn't happen! Had some great wildlife, including an octopus Possibly one of my favorite creatures. Tho it was very difficult to find even when Tink pointed it out! Hopefully we can post some pics soon. So far, briiliant. The only way to make it better would be to have more friends around joining in. So come on you guys, put your names down for the Proscuba hols. You'll regret it if you dont!! | |

| Glad to hear the diving is good Maybe if more of us had heard about it earlier you'd have had some of the 'outer circle' join you, obviously only a selected few were invited,so the rest of us assumed it was just a private holiday for the two of you have fun and be safe xx | |

| I know this trip had been planned and talked about for quite a while. As far as I know there have always been two trips each year to Menorca
I know I have not been around much lately but I wasn't aware there was an "inner" and "outer" circle just different groups of people that are able, mainly through work setups, to dive at different times. I am aware of this, sometimes, when a lot of us are together but doesn't that happen in any type of group like ours?????? (I have sat in the pub on a Friday on the edges so I know what I am talking about)
With two close bereavements this year I knew that there was no way I was going to get there but I am looking forward now to next year when I will be able to do more!!
I did my open water there and look forward to going back to swim in those lovely warm waters.

| ProScuba havn't done an official trip to menorca this year. This was mainly down to me not been allowed to go there! This year we did a Malta Trip - extended and great fun. Next Years holidays will be announced by the end of this month as usual. All Proscuba organised trips are open to everyone*. But, private trips and holidays organised by individuals are thier own trips. If they want to invite people thats up-to-them. Anyway wish I was in Menorca at the moment, sounds great. If last minute flights would have been a little cheaper I would have been out for a few days. . . .* Everyone can come and join us on all our trips, holidays and dives: All we ask to meet the standards of our insurance and to comply to the law is that people joining us are: 1. Qualified and experienced to do the dive in question2. Being as guided diver (under direct supervision)3. Be on a course Medical Statement and other paperwork as required by LAW and required by dive agency, industry guidelines. These are NOT our rules, but we have to work to them as a professional dive operation. | |

| Sorry, we didn't mean to start something off. Yes, this one is a private holiday for me and Ange as we have had no 'chill' time togther this year thanks to a certain volcano  We just remember how much fun a group trip is However, the weather has turned. Then plan was for Swiss Cheese and then Cala D'Esteve. Swiss Cheese my butt, more like Swiss Washing machine - no way Jose. So plan 'B'. Off to Calo Blanc. Nice shallow bay - 6m max. Nice potter around. Ange found a beautiful Sea Slug. Hopefully will post pics later. Then to Cala D'Esteve. Still many bottles and the rowing boat is nearly covered over now. So we head inshore. Now things get a little better. Plenty of playful flatfish and a nice small Weaver. Then I nearly put my hand a big Lizardfish. Got it out into the open and got a couple of pics. Only short dives today,60 and 45 minutes. Tomorrow, well we will see what the weather brings. It may be the end as there is due to be a storm coming in. | |

| Wish I was there! Thankfully we did get out to the old favourite this year in June for San Juan and had a great time, but I do miss diving out there with you lot, its been a fair few years now and its about time we got back in Menorcan waters together. I do miss the old days with Marv and the gang massively. Hope the rest of the week is enjoyable for you pair, and I look forward to being back in the water with you out there soon. We need to make it happen! Hugs, Ax |

| Subject: Today - the steps!!! Tue Sep 14, 2010 6:14 pm | |
| Today's first dive was at the 'B*****d steps'. This site has many steps down to it, but the good news is that we used a very different set of steps that reduces it to 'the bloody steps'. My entry was normal, but now the girl is getting carried away with it. So in front of a quite impressive audience, she did a somersaut entry. Actually, very well.
The dive was nice and steady with two good 'pus and a baby 'pus also some nice scorpionfish. The exit was steady after trying to avoid the 'scenery'.
A quick de-kit and then tradition for Steps 'virgins' must be ahered to, so it was to the platform for the 'leap'. Done very well, but, as I said, the girl is getting carried away with it. So a somersault from the top. Well not quite. Thankfully, a wetsuit is good protection for landing on the back. But not to be swayed by this, she was back and did a perfect somersault this time and it impressed the local crowd who were now convinced that they were watching nutters at play.
Additional good news, the scenery was out in force.
The second dive was from Cala Forcat. Out through the channel, which wasn't quite a washing machine, but close. Thankfully, the viz cleared towards the mouth. Out to the pinnacal rock and around it. A very nice nudibranch here. Then off to the large swimthrough rock. Ange found a cracking Moray here.
Nice and steady back. Just another two 60+ minute dives.
Tomorrow, who knows. | |

| Hey mate, how are you doing? Sorry no fin found and we are now done Today, we did Tunnel Vision. The good news is that it is still there. The better news isd that today I found it. Came up feeling a little groggy due to poor hydration so called it a day whilst I was on a 'high'. However, Ange has further stories to tell. A good weeks worth of diving and it does feel good to be back so we will have to see about another trip | |

| As you can probably tell from the previous post- we're not really wanting to go home. The weather is still great, the water warm and our friends still talking to us!!!!! This morning was tunnel vision- normal potter, again about an hour long. Our entry has changed a bit with the winter storms- some steps no longer there, a wall instead. Glad I spotted that one! Some other concrete steps are in place so actually a slightly easier entry. Managed to spot some more octopus tink did the digging to australia impression to get max depth- even managed a foot deep hole today! The entrance was found after a little hunting and then the swim through. With the sun shining, the usual amazing light display was seen. Its always stunnning. Meander back to finish the dive. As Tink was feeling a little woosy, Paul's offer was turned down by Tink. That meant a dive for me with Paul- the lighthouse. A new dive to me and definitely one worth repeating. Entry is a deep water entry of approx 3 or 4 metres so decided to do a somersault entry to Paul's surprise- 'if I'd known you were going to do that I'd have had the camera ready' and 'you're insane' were the comments made!! We dropped down to the 7ish m ledge and headed over to the point. Not much to see, wish the rays that had been spotted earlier on in the year had hung around. Round the point to then enter the swim throughs. There were some amazing light effects, similar to Swiss Cheese. A fairly narrow swim through- to the point where a little tugging was necessary. A slow meander up to the ridge and back to the exit. First time I've been asked to take fins off just before landing on the rocks to enable a quick climb up but it worked! As you can tell a good dive I'd love to do again and a brill one to end the week on. A total of just under 650 min- an average of 65 min a dive, loads of photos and tons of fun! Sad to be going home soon | |

| As it can be seen from the reports, we enjoyed our diving. Mainly on sites we regularly use but some less frequent. The creatues were the usual but with one major exception found by Ange I managed to get the little creature onto my hand and it opened back out. So if this works you can get an idea of the size The other creature I had never seen before was this tubeworm. I thought it was an urchin so called Ange over to see and just as she was getting ready to photo it I moved and it withdrew into it's tube Then we saw a Lizardfish. First time I saw one was on Malta but this was the first time in Menorca There were plenty of the usual fish including Tompot Blennies Octopus, this one was a baby about 3inches across the body Plenty of Moray Eels including a couple caught out in the open and this beautiful Nudibranch Not quite as good as Chrismas Island for wildlife, and I'm still jealous, But this is our second home and best of all was both of us being out in fab place seeing our friends again. Truly a great holiday. Thank you to all concerned. | |
